Saddle Stitch

Printing and Design Terms

A binding method used for booklets, brochures, and other printed materials where pages are folded and stapled along the spine. This method, also known as saddle wire binding, involves placing the folded sheets over a "saddle" and securing them with staples.

Saddle stitching is commonly used for magazines, catalogs, and small booklets due to its simplicity, affordability, and durability. It is most effective for publications with a relatively low page count, as thicker materials may not fold or staple cleanly. The result is a professional, flat-bound finish that is easy to handle and read.
