Binding

Printing and Design Terms

The method used to join the pages of a printed piece into a single, cohesive product. Binding methods include: - Perfect Binding: Pages are glued to a flat spine, creating a professional look, commonly used for magazines and catalogs. - Saddle Stitching: Folded sheets are stapled along the spine, suitable for smaller booklets or brochures. - Wire-O and Spiral Binding: A looped wire or plastic coil binds pages, allowing them to lay flat—ideal for manuals or notebooks. - Case Binding: Hardcover binding for durability and a premium look.
